Gold Fill Materials
“Gold-filled” is a USA industry standard that legally requires 1/20th, or 5% pure gold by weight. It’s a strictly regulated process that involves pressure bonding multiple layers of solid 14k gold with extreme heat over a core of high quality jeweler’s brass resulting in a durable, quality REAL GOLD product. 14k rose gold-filled, rather than yellow gold. Gold filled can tarnish overtime. By using a gold polishing cloth, this will help to clean it! Gold filled has to be taken care of, but it will last you a lifetime.
Sterling Silver Materials
“Sterling silver” contains 92.5% silver. Pure silver is too malleable to be used in jewelry making and is therefore alloyed with another metal to make it more durable and rigid. My sterling silver chains contains 7.5% copper. It does NOT contain nickel. Care should be taken to avoid exposing silver to household chemicals when cleaning with bleach or ammonia, or when swimming in chlorinated water, as these chemicals can damage silver.
The 25kg Plate + Barbella Box Necklaces
When designing this necklace, I wanted to focus on fitness as my inspiration. This 25kg plate, dainty design is so pretty for the every day wear. The chain is stainless steel and the charm is made from .925 sterling silver plated with gold to match the color of the chain. I highly recommend removing your necklace before any workout or before entering water. This necklace is "fitness inspired" and should not be worn while exercising.
It is up to you on how long your jewelry stays looking new. Your jewelry piece can be looking great for YEARS, depending on how much you wear and tear it. When storing your necklace, I suggest placing it in an air tight bag or box, this will help will any tarnishing.
If your chain breaks, this is due to wear and tear or you accidentally snagged it. I get lots of emails about how jewelry broke. Some cases have been, ie. dogs, children, barbells, snags on clothes, accident in the gym. My first suggestion is going to your local jeweler to have it quickly and affordably repaired. Or visit the FAQ's page for more information.
The most fragile part of the ball chain necklaces are near the clasp. I say this to warn you, not to scare you! In any case, please do not over bend the ball chain near the clasp, or it will break. This is just a warning. But in SO many testimonies and other girl's experiences... there have been zero issues! This is a necklace you put on and never take off. If your necklaces does break near the clasp, there is a fixing fee and or new cost to replace chain.
